We are so appreciative of Kathleen for funding the Rising Star Music fund. This has impacted my young adult sons in such a positive way. They have learned to get in touch with their voice, learning to work as a team, and making friends along the way. My son Nicolas looked forward to performing and being part of this group. We look forward to joining in the Fall. Thank you for your generosity and helping these young men and women feel they are important to the Community.

We are grateful for having music program available for Hannah with financial support. Thank Kathleen’s generosity. Although Hannah has stage fear, she really enjoyed singing and participating. She will continue joining this program in the future if it’s available. Thanks teacher Judy for your patience and love in helping Hannah grow.
Best always!

Hello Kathleen,
Our son Jonathan had the privilege to participate in the Rising Star Choir for the first time this semester. He enjoyed it so much that we didn’t mind the 45 minutes drive each way to bring him to the class. He learned so many new songs. I can’t stop watching the video of his concert solo. He had fun. We are very thankful to you for funding this class which gaves Jonathan the opportunity to do what he loves to do (sing). We can’t wait for next semester.
Thank you,
John & Lilian Onuoha
It has been truly a blessing that CSUN offers such a special choir program designed for children with special needs. We are so lucky to be part of the group and to get to create a community with other wonderful families by sharing the interest of music. The instructor and student staff are always there for our children and they are understanding. Though it is often challenging for our children to be out in the community, MTWC provides them with a safe place to “Try Everything”. They are shining! Thank you so much for all you do to make this program run sustainable for us.
Gratefully,
Minako Le (Parent)
The Rising Star Choir has been such a wonderful experience for our family. My son has ADHD and has difficulty with new classes or situations. He participated in the program for Fall and Spring of last year. We had tried so many activities and classes to no avail before finally finding the Rising Star Choir. From the first day he was instantly engaged and thereafter always excited to attend, even though practices took place at a later time on a weekday. As a parent I got to see my son light up the stage at each concert and even more importantly became connected to a community of parents dedicated to enriching the lives of their children with special needs. Although choir is now officially over the connections and friendships we made during the program remain. I feel so grateful for the experience and hope other families will receive the same amount of joy CSUN and the Rising Star Choir has brought to our lives.
Thank you.
